About KUSA

The Kennel Union of Southern Africa (KUSA) was founded in 1891 as the South African Kennel Club, and is one of the oldest and most respected kennel clubs in the world. KUSA is the official dog registry in southern Africa and registers purebred and non-purebred dogs on its various registries. Furthermore, it licenses dog shows and all forms of dogsport across the country.

National Registration and Recognition

KUSA is registered with the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) as a Canine Breeders’ Society, and as the Registering Authority for 218 canine breeds.

International Registration and Recognition

KUSA is a full member of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) — the international federation of national kennel clubs.

Through bilateral agreements with:

The American Kennel Club
